Davis Classroom

The Davis Classroom in Miller library was funded by a grant for library instruction and teaching, and so library instruction is given first priority in scheduling. The room serves as an open computer lab when not being used for classes. The classroom is available during standard Miller library hours.

Scheduling the lab:

Faculty may schedule one-off classes in the Davis Classroom if their students need concurrent access to individual computers for instruction. Please submit a request at least 48 hours in advance, using our online form.

Bixler Media Lab

The Bixler Media Lab provides 16 iMacs with specialized software for digital art or computer-based applications in music. All art and music faculty may schedule one-off library or class sessions that require interactive and concurrent instruction using the computers. Please note that no food is permitted; drinks must be in spill-proof containers.

  • 16 iMacs with 22-inch monitors
  • 1 Epson V500 photo scanner
  • 1 Epson V600 photo scanner
  • 1 B&W laser printer
  • 1 Epson GT 20000 11×17 in. flatbed scanner

For the instructor, there is an iMac with LanSchool software, Blu-ray DVD player, CD changer, and VHS player (PAL/Secam/NTSC), whiteboards, and a digital projector and screen.

Software available includes: Adobe Bridge, Fugu, PhotoScore Lite, EndNote, GarageBand, ARTstor, Audacity, Front Row, AudioScore Lite, iPhoto, Adobe Photoshop, iChat, Sibelius and more
