Along with Bates and Bowdoin, we recently launched our new shared library services platform (LSP), LibrarySearch. This transition will enhance collaboration within the CBB library consortium and enable staff to streamline workflows by incorporating the management of all library resources – electronic, digital, and print – into one system.
What does this mean for you? Our previous discovery and catalog systems, which you may have known as OneSearch and CBBCat, were merged into a single interface, enabling you to search print and online collections in one place and providing a better browsing experience. LibrarySearch is also faster, mobile-friendly, and includes helpful features like citation trails and automatic recommendations.
We’re here to help! Check out our LibrarySearch guide, which outlines many common tasks such as searching, requesting, renewing, etc.
Library staff are also available for in-person consultations. Contact your library liaison to schedule a meeting.
We will conduct usability testing in the fall but appreciate constructive feedback on the new system. As with any major system migration, unexpected issues sometimes arise, and our goal is to identify and address them as quickly as possible, so communicating about problems helps us!
