Explore Colby Libraries’ Zine Collection! Zines are self-published works that often provide perspectives from creators who are underrepresented in traditional publishing because of systemic barriers or the content of their work. They can include a wide variety of content types, including art, poetry, stories, recipes- anything the creators (sometimes called zinesters) want to include!

Zines are sometimes associated with punk and activist subcultures, but our collection ranges from serious informational zines about protests of extradition bills in Hong Kong to an illustrated guide to birds you can’t trust (and one you can).You can browse the full collection of zines in LibrarySearch, and visit Special Collections to view the zines, or Bixler Library to find a copy you can check out and bring home!
